Gun Cleaning Services

The Field Strip (Basic Maintenance)
This is the most common style, performed after a typical day at the range or out in the field. I will disassemble the gun only into its major components (e.g., slide, barrel, and frame for a pistol; bolt and housing for a rifle).
Best for: Keeping the weapon reliable without over-complicating things.
Goal: Remove carbon buildup and “fouling” from the primary moving parts.
Process: Quick wipe-down, bore scrubbing with a brush, and fresh lubrication.

The Detail Clean (Deep Dive)
This style involves a complete teardown of the firearm, including small pins, springs, and trigger assemblies. It’s usually done once or twice a year, or if the gun has been exposed to extreme conditions like heavy rain or mud.
Best for: Long-term preservation and identifying potential mechanical failures before they happen.
Goal: To ensure no grit or moisture is trapped in the internal mechanisms that aren’t reached during a field strip.
Process: Every single part is degreased, inspected for wear/cracks, and meticulously re-oiled.

The Sonic or Solvent Bath (Automated/Tech)
This is a modern, high-efficiency style often used by armorers or high-volume shooters. It uses an ultrasonic cleaner filled with specialized cleaning solution.
Best for: Cleaning multiple parts quickly or restoring very neglected, “crusty” hardware.
Goal: To reach 100% of the surface area of complex parts without manual scrubbing.
Process: High-frequency sound waves create bubbles that “blast” carbon and lead off the metal. Afterward, parts must be thoroughly dried and re-lubricated immediately since the bath removes every trace of protective oil.
